The Galveston Reuse Governance Board (GRGB) is a Texas nonprofit that oversees the reusable foodware system that is targeted for launch in Galveston in fall 2024.

The GRGB is building its inaugural Board of Directors. GRGB’s bylaws specify that it shall be composed of members of the Galveston community who are both motivated and equipped to support the creation and oversight of a city-wide reusable foodware system. Directors will include representatives of local government, local hospitality business associations, local environmental nonprofits, local community organizations and representatives, and other stakeholders.

GRGB’s charter includes:

  • License the back-end technology platform and ensure data and privacy protection for the reuse system

  • Coordinate the execution of city-wide marketing campaigns to educate about the reuse system

  • Facilitate public reporting on operational, financial, and impact metrics

  • Ensure the reuse system is responsive to the needs, concerns, and wishes of the local Community.
